Mayday

Mayday is a compact, clean tube preamp with a flexible active EQ. The 12AU7 running at high plate voltage brings unparalleled warmth and depth to your tone, while the four-band active EQ helps you dial in whatever sound you need for any style of music. Mayday has both a preamp-affected unbalanced 1/4″ output and a transformer-coupled balanced XLR D.I. output for flexibility of routing your signals onstage or in the studio.

EQ Center Points are Bass: 60Hz, Lo Mids: 250Hz, Hi-Mids: 1kHz, and Treble: 7kHz

Mayday is equipped with an Unagi Magnetics E4305 D.I. transformer, which was custom-made to Sushi Box’s spec and has an extremely wide frequency response and excellent sensitivity to playing. It was designed specifically for use with tube preamps and was designed with bass in mind, giving a full-range flat response down to 10Hz.

As a tube pedal, Mayday requires a high amount of current to operate correctly. I recommend a 9-12VDC power supply capable of delivering at least 500mA. Using less than this can damage the power supply and/or the pedal.
