Lab Rat X
The Lab Rat is based on the original ProCo Rat, but the original JFET buffer has been replaced by a 12AX7 tube stage. It uses a typical LM308 opamp, and has a three-way clipping diode selection switch, which allows you to go between silicon diodes (standard Rat circuit), LEDs (Turbo Rat circuit), or no clipping diodes for a raw clipped op-amp sound. Lab Rat also has a tube boost section after the drive that can be used independently for a nice clean boost or can be stacked after the drive to push the volume up for solos.
Controls: Gain, Tone, Volume, Boost level, Bypass (footswitch), Boost (footswitch)
It takes a 9-12V input, and can accept center negative or center positive inputs. It uses internal regulators to supply 200V to the plates, giving it the richness you expect from a full high-voltage preamp.
CURRENT DRAW NOTE: Like many Sushi Box pedals, this one uses a tube, which means current draw is a bit higher than a standard pedal. While we haven't profiled X Series yet, you can expect current draw requirements to be ~350mA @ 12v.
